Kingsley Academy pupils recently had the opportunity to experience the magic of filmmaking firsthand during a 'One Day Film School' event designed to welcome them into sixth form life.
The event provided a unique team-building experience, allowing students to collaborate on creative projects and develop new skills.
Pupils were divided into groups and tasked with creating short films from start to finish. The process involved scripting, filming, and editing, giving students a taste of the entire filmmaking process.
From learning about the history of film to mastering camera techniques and fight choreography, the students were immersed in the world of cinema.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to create silent films based on classic narratives.
Kingsley students’ winning film, 'Hidden Love,' impressed the judges with its creativity and storytelling. As a result, it has been selected as Film of the Week by One Day Film School and will be evaluated by a panel of film industry professionals in November.
