Most people think that apprenticeships are just for younger people and those new to job roles, but that just isn’t true. The environment is really supportive, and I can get through to the apprenticeships team and my tutors by email, phone, or face-to-face.

I’ve been at Lift Percy Shurmer for 23 years, and I decided to do the Specialist TA Level 5 apprenticeship, as I still have 12 years left before I retire!

My trainer, Nicki, is a former headteacher with lots of experience in education, and that is really helping me on the programme. I would 100% recommend this programme to experienced TAs. I’m loving the course and learning new things.

The apprenticeship was the best way to learn. In IT, what you learn from a book and real life are totally different. Doing it in the workplace keeps your skills up to date; IT moves so fast. A traditional IT course is almost immediately out of date, but as the apprenticeship is work-based learning, the skills are always current and relevant.

The Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship has been a truly empowering experience. It's not just about gaining a qualification; it's about personal and professional transformation.
