Associate Talent Resource Partner at Lift Schools
Business Administrator
Level

This apprenticeship taught me some really valuable, key things that have stayed with me in my career, such as time management, how to network, and loads of transferable skills. It’s like doing a business 101 course!

Introduction

I’m Bee Pevy, and I work in the recruitment team and completed a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship at Lift Schools apprenticeships.

‍

What did you get from the apprenticeship?

The Level 3 BA programme gave me exposure to lots of different aspects of the business and helped me learn what I was passionate about and what I wanted to do.

This apprenticeship taught me some really valuable, key things that have stayed with me in my career, such as time management, how to network and loads of transferable skills. It’s like doing a business 101 course!

‍

What was the role of your employer?

I was mentored by my line manager within the talent team, and they made sure that I could access the knowledge, skills and behaviours I needed for the role, as well as dedicated study time.

I also took a functional skills course in ICT, which helped develop my digital skills so that I can use platforms within Google workspace effectively and my trainers and assessors gave me loads of valuable support to complete the apprenticeship.

‍

What has been the impact of your taking the programme?

It helped me figure out what I wanted to pursue. It helped me to get roles in HR with a healthcare company, run my own beauty business, and I’m now an Associate Talent Resource Partner within Lift Schools.

The main things I took from the programme was how to prioritise, manage finances, how to manage marketing channels like social media, and how to improve all aspects of administration that help an organisation to be successful and run smoothly.

‍

What are you doing next?

The apprenticeship has given me the confidence to take the next step. I’d like to look into taking a degree apprenticeship, and I’m keen to take on more responsibility within the trust.

‍

What are your fellow apprentices doing once they finish?

Other apprentices I worked and studied with went onto work in schools, accounting, and some went into IT.

‍

What would be your advice to anyone considering an apprenticeship with Lift Schools?

For anyone leaving school or who wants to make a career change, apprenticeships are a great opportunity to develop transferable skills and develop your career.

Lift Schools apprenticeships are also available for experienced and new hires, offering a great alternative to university. They are recognised qualifications, and they give you first-hand experience in business to learn while you earn.

IT Solutions Technician

The apprenticeship was the best way to learn. In IT, what you learn from a book and real life are totally different. Doing it in the workplace keeps your skills up to date; IT moves so fast. A traditional IT course is almost immediately out of date, but as the apprenticeship is work-based learning, the skills are always current and relevant.
